Upper Dolpo Trekking - 20 Days

Upper Dolpo TrekkingThe word ''Dolpo'' refers to a specific area of Tibetan heritage located in the northern portion of Dolpa district of Nepal which is one of the most remote and sparsely populated district in Nepal. The landscape is characterized by high steep valleys and relatively dry climate. The Upper Dolpo region is another remote hidden destination in far west where Nepal's most tranquil and natural beauty is still unexplored. Dolpo is still the homeland of the Spotted Leopard, Blue Sheep, wolves and huge birds 'Himalayan griffon' and many other varieties of flora and fauna, with different rain shadow landscapes with stunning mountain views. The noteworthy figure seen here are immaculate snowy peaks, ancient and isolated villages, rich wildlife, herbal land, unspoiled trans-Himalayan culture, reliable Buddhist monastery, unique human civilization at high altitude is worth a visit and wonderful lakes. Trekking around the Dolpo region is an unforgettable journey in every visitor's life. The Dolpo is famous for deepest Lake Phoksundo in entire Himalayan Region. This trek is most suitable for those who are exceptionally fit and prepared to face the full challenge of the Himalayan wilderness. In spite of tough trails and rugged topography journey to Dolpo area is a lifetime experience.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj

Day 02: Flight from Nepalgunj to Jumla and trek to Gotichaur (2700m)

Day 03: Trek from Gotichaur to Napa Khola (3000m)

Day 04: Trek from Napa Khola to Chaurikot (3000m)

Day 05: Trek from Chaurikot to Bheri River Side

Day 06: Trek from Bheri River Side to Garpung Khola (4000m)

Day 07: Trek from Garpung Khola to Kagmara (3500m)

Day 08: Trek from Kagmara to Kagmara Base Camp (4000m)

Day 09: Cross Kagmara La Pass (5165m) and trek to Pungmo Khola (3050m)

Day 10: Trek from Pungmo Khola to Shey- Phoksundo Lake (3600m)

Day 11: Trek from Shey- Phoksundo Lake to Bagala Base Camp

Day 12: Cross Bagala La Pass (5090m) and trek to Numla Pass Base Camp (5190m)

Day 13: Trek from Numla Pass Base Camp to Chering Gompa

Day 14: Trek from Chering Gompa to Do Tarap

Day 15: Rest and exploration day at Do Tarap.

Day 16: Trek from Do Tarap to Lahini (3560m)

Day 17: Trek from Lahini to Tarakot (2700m)

Day 18: Trek from Tarakot to Dunai (2100m)

Day 19: Trek from Dunai to Juphal

Day 20: Flight from Juphal to Nepaljung and back to Kathmandu by Bus.

Trip Cost Includes

  • Transfer International Airport and domestic airport/hotel/airport.
  • 3 times food (Veg./non Veg.) during the Trekking (breakfast, lunch & dinner).

  • Nepal entry visa fee US$ 30 (duration 60 days from date of issue)- Available at Royal Nepalese Embassies and Royal Nepalese Consulates abroad or on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
  • Items of personal expenses such as alcoholic drinks, cold drinks, laundry bills, cigrattes, mineral waters etc
  • Gratitude/Tips (Tipping is expected but it is not mandatory).
  • Rescue charge if needed (Our Company can arrange), any kind of unforeseen expenses etc.
