Nepal Trekking Destinations

EverestNepal, the trekkers’ paradise, can only be explored thoroughly by means of trekking in its diverse landscape. The very organic rhythm of foot travel is a wonderful way to discover and experience unbeatable combination of natural beauty and culture making meaningful contact with this extraordinary country.

Trekking in Nepal starting from the low landscape through the green hills, you can trek up to the foot of the great Himalayan ranges, such as Mt. Everest, Langtang, Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, Mansalu, Makalu and Annapurna or make a circuit of the highest mountains which since time immemorial has lured man to pit his courage and ingenuity against its dangerous challenge. Trekking in Nepal is fun, rewarding and revealing beyond all surmise. Trekking in Nepal is an all season activity. One can go for a trek at any time of the year depending on where he wishes to go. However, the most popular season is spring (February- May) and autumn (September-November). Both seasons are perfect when weather is balmy; flowers are in full bloom, excellent trails, clear skies and majestic sceneries of the Himalayas. Winter (Dec, Jan and Feb) is also good, only colder (obviously). Summer (Jun, Jul, and Aug) is monsoon so visibility and rain are an issue. Even during the monsoon season (June- August), you can trek in the rain- shadow areas north of the Himalaya like Mustang, Upper Manang, Dolpo, etc.

We, LAMA TREKKING AND EXPEDITION, organize socially and environmentally responsible trekking in Nepal in all major trekking routes of Nepal for the tourist with no prior experience of trekking to the proficient trekkers. All our trekking itineraries are professionally designed to appeal to all the levels of walking experience keeping in mind to ensure a memorable holiday in Nepal of our respected guests.

Restricted Area Trekking

Restricted Area TrekkingThere are many parts of Nepal into which the entry of foreigners is strictly controlled. There are many influences on the decision to open or close certain parts of Nepal to foreigners. You should check with a trekking agency or the central immigration office before planning an unusual trek. You must also pay for a Nepal government official to accompany you throughout the trek permits & formalities. A trek to a restricted area must be arranged as a fully equipped organized trek through a registered trekking agency using tents, Sherpa staff, cooks and porters. The trekking agency arranges the permit through a series of applications, guarantees and letters and requires process. You may not trek alone; there must be at least two trekkers in each group. For some areas there is a limit to the number of trekkers per season. There is no system of advance reservation, and no clear indication of what will happen if the quota is reached the day before you make an application. The liaison officer is supposed to handle all the formalities with police and government offices en route.
