A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. A trip will take you over some of the best scenery on earth, as you share airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, kites and float over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungles with a fantastic view of the majestic Himalaya like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna Range, Mt. Manaslu(8163m), Mt. Fishtail (6997m)and many other mountain over 8000m. Gliding is a weather dependent sports and the flying season in Nepal commences from November through February, the best months being November and December. The takes off point for these flights is Sarangkot (1592m.), which offers prime views of Fewa Lake and mountains at sunrise and sunset (if weather permits) and the landing is by the Fewa Lake. No previous experience is required as qualified pilots provide a short briefing before launching.
Tandem flying involves a pilot flying with a passenger. Both have separate harnesses that are attached to each other and wing. Paragliding harnesses are built for comfort and safety; they feel more like an armchair. After takeoff the passenger just sits back, relaxes and takes in the epic scenery. Even taking pictures is not a problem. Because paraglider can foot launch and gently foot land again and are very portable we can take them anywhere and fly from the most mountains in Nepal.
This offers you the chance to experience flying from one valley to another. Using thermals, clouds and birds to guide us, we take you on an unforgettable journey north of Pokhara towards the big mountains. We fly as long as we can and aim to return to Pokhara that afternoon. .
This midday flight gives you the thrill of high flight as we thermal up above Sarangkot in the company of eagles and vultures, 30min - 1 hour. We land by the lake.
We take a 20 minutes jeep drive from Pokhara to Sarangkot. From here we can see three of the highest mountain in the world i.e. Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Fishtail and all over 8000m. We offer three types of tandem flights from here.
