Everest Region Trekking
The Khumbu or Everest region is the most popular trekking area in Nepal. Revered as Chomolungma (goddess mother of the world) by Tibetans and called Sagarmatha (goddess of the sky) in Nepal, Mount Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world. Everest region has four 8,000m plus grand peaks such as Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), and Cho Oyu (8,201m), including the world's highest Mt Everest (8,848m).
Everest region attracts many trekkers than any other mountains in the world. Solu Khumbu is justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain (8848 m), but also for its Sherpa villages and monasteries. Alluring birds like the golden eagle, snow pigeon, red-billed and yellow-billed choughs and flowers like rhododendron, magnolias, blue pine, chir pine, juniper and hemlock make the trekking a delight for nature lovers. The main goal of the trekkers to the Everest region is to observe the world highest mountain along with the worlds other three highest mountains.
